We’re flying again!

This week we kicked off the 2012 flying season. Flying in Gloucestershire on a cold, windy and overcast day proved challenging but the first results are encouraging. We are flying the G2 platform again in 2012 but with a completely new technical payload which is exciting and will provide us with considerably more data to play with. This first flying sortie is a bit like an F1 pre-season test, lots of adjustment and tweaks but with substantial flying time and lots of data acquisition.

The RGB image above is flown over a field of winter Rape and immediately shows where the crop is well established and where it is not. To the naked eye at field level the crops look fairly uniform but as this aerial photo reveals this is not always the case.
